There are many ways that engagements can be celebrated.

The engagement celebrations that we are talking about aren’t the engagement party as such; that is something that the happy couples’ parents will take care of. We are talking about ways that you can celebrate with your friends, for example taking them out to dinner. Let’s be honest, taking them out to dinner is a bit twee and clichéd; maybe you could try tracking down the restaurant where they went on their first date.

Or you could make them a meal from scratch, wining them and dining them and tantalize their taste buds; in fact, you could turn it in to an evening affaire and invite mutual friends; it could be an impromptu dinner party with champagne flowing and canapé’s being picked off platters, beautiful flowers in the centre of your table. The perfect evening is within your reach.

If you aren’t too keen on dinner parties and soirees you could simply organise a picnic or an afternoon out doing something fun and crazy together; maybe let them get a tattoo of the date they got engaged; get the bride to get a second hole in her ears. Or maybe even a delicious cake or cupcakes that commemorates the day he popped the question! Anything your heart desires; provided it’s not too creepy and or going to cause harm to the happy couple, yourself or others. It’s not fun celebrating engagements in hospital.

If you fancy sending your best girlfriend off out of the single life in style, you could organise a limousine, her best friends and female relatives and copious amounts of bubbly (as the kids are calling it these days) and get your grooves on, maybe shake what your mama’s gave you.
